AlternativesToEbay.com was registered on 2009-01-08 with the sole objective of helping small sites compete with larger site. We also own Alternativestoamazon.com.
Since then other sites have started after being registered with similar domain names. The in the hope of feeding of our success. These sites tend to be low in quality and offer little to the visitors except perhaps a list of auction sites some of which are not available when the links of checked. No quality control and no direct help to the auction site owners is available, these sites are simply intended to be money earners jumping on the back of the A2E branding we have been busy building since early 2009.
The aim of this document is to disassociate ourselves from any other site you may see with a similar name or even the same name but different domain extension. We could try to use the law to take these sites down but we just don't have that sort of money. Remember any money we take in by means of advertising is used to promote the small auction sites we try to support. Please note if you go to these similar sites they do not support small auctions sites like we do.
There policies are not those of AlternativesToEbay.com. They have no influence over AlternativesToEbay.com. We at AlternativesToEbay.com do not condone the practices these sites use to attract visitors. Further more we would also like to make it clear that AlternativesToEbay.com are not and never have been associated with any other site with a similar name.

AlternativesToEbay.com are not anti eBay.com, we respect their business and their trademarks. But we also respect the right to compete in the marketplace. By using the name Alternatives To Ebay we are not suggesting people not use eBay. We are simply say the are alternatives should you be looking for them. AlternativesToEbay.com Would never say don't use eBay. But the are a great deal of people who for their own reasons want to try another auction site, we give them the information they need to do that. In fact eBay is so big now that we think another small auction sites can offer very good service, particularly in specialist and niche markets.
