Bonhams First Dubai Motor Car Auction

Bonhams announce that for the first time they will be offering Collectors’ Motor Cars for sale by auction at the Royal Mirage Hotel during their traditional October auction season, along with their regular Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern, Iranian & South East Asian Art auction.
Bonhams held its inaugural auction in Dubai in March 2008 which raised a total of more than US$13million and broke thirty three world records. Since then the company has continued to expand in the region, and it now offers sales in Orientalist Pictures & Works of Art as well as Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern, Iranian & South Asian Art. Despite the current economic challenges, Dubai’s art market remains strong and recent success means that it is only logical for Bonhams to expand their departmental presence by introducing Collectors’ Motor Car auctions. The company is one of the leading international auctioneers of Collectors’ Motor Cars and has always been known for its pioneering sales. They were the first to hold auctions in Monaco in the 1980s and now have annual sales all over the world, often coinciding with prestigious events, in the USA, UK, Monaco, Paris and Australia.
Watches are a natural partner for motor cars and the auction in October will also include Vintage and Limited Edition Watches.
“The appetite for Collectors Motor Cars is certainly growing in the area,” says James Knight, Group Head of Bonhams’ Motoring Department. “With the emergence of events such as the Dubai Classic Car Show and other motoring events now going from strength to strength, it makes sense for us to explore this idea and we are thrilled at the prospect of offering a motor car auction in the region.”

CQout, the UK based international auction company, who recently announced the launch of its services to the USA, has now announced the introduction of its new Auto-Sync technology to help eliminate many of the administrative burdens often experienced by sellers.
Auto-Sync is a new technology introduced by CQout that aims to take away all the administrative chores experienced by sellers, allowing them to devote their time to servicing their sales and their customers.
With Auto-Sync, CQout simply takes data automatically from a seller’s own website to create a professional-looking auction listing on CQout. As a seller updates their own web site with stock movements or price changes, their listings on CQout are updated as well, resulting in sellers now having an additional shop front that reaches a wider audience and doesn’t require a huge amount of time or work to maintain.
