We had a record year in 2010, with many of our auctions reaching new heights and breaking records. This was mainly due to restructuring of the sales programme. We also introduced various new Specialist Sales, amongst our successful Fortnightly Vintage and Antique Collectable Sales, where we have a huge following both nationally and internationally. Collectors and dealers alike keep a close eye on our online catalogues via these.
We also found ourselves appraising collections further afield into central London and the home counties. This, accompanied by our close working relationship with leading law firms, led to market fresh material being entered into appropriate sales and ultimately achieving excellent results.
Boningtons are also pleased to announce the development of our Probate department and the appointment of the experienced Colin Hughes as Head of Probate.
In addition, Boningtons had our first artist studio sale featuring John Strevens (1902- 1910), who was an internationally renowned artist. The auction exceeded all expectations and was a credit to all those who marketed the sale at such short notice.
I wish you all a successful and prosperous 2011.
