A Major Pitfall of eBay International Trading
To the Editor:
About 3 years ago I started clicking on the eBay international selling button. It’s been pretty successful for me with packages going out around the world every week. However, I just got dinged by one UK buyer for not lying and listing the package contents at a lower rate which cost her import fees.
Going through the frustrating channels at eBay has yielded nothing but fake sounding apologies and platitudes that "mediocre" service is the "New" GOOD. "I should be happy.!"
I go out of my way to give superior service and my hundreds of satisfied buyers comments show that. But oh, how it hurts when ONE negative shows up and eBay sits by doing nothing.
I have eBay messages where the buyer berated me for not sending the item below the UK Value Added Tax (VAT) radar. I offered to refund the item. The buyer left negative instead. OUCH! Ebay said her request was "not worded in exactly the way" they want to see it to consider rescinding the negative feedback.
